The Barnard PTA invests hundreds of thousands of dollars each year into programs, experiences, staff support, and resources for our students.

BAG helps make that investment possible.

Your contributions support areas including:

Additional Curriculum & Experiential Learning

Programs such as San Diego Youth Science, supplemental curriculum, literacy and Mandarin resources, and other educational tools that extend learning beyond what district funding provides.

Teacher & Classroom Support

Classroom supplies, educational materials, professional development, certifications, teacher-requested resources, and additional support based on classroom needs.

This year, the PTA is also working directly with Barnard teachers to identify items and resources that can make an immediate difference for their students.

Field Trips

Educational on-campus and off-campus experiences that give students the opportunity to learn outside the classroom and create lasting memories.

Campus & Student Resources

Equipment and improvements that benefit students throughout the school day, including outdoor and PE equipment, technology, classroom resources, and other school-wide needs.

Community Programs & Events

Programs and events that bring Barnard families together and celebrate our unique community, including Mosaics, Lunar New Year, STEAM Day, Writers Day, and more.

Our suggested contribution is:

$1 per day, per student

That works out to approximately:

$30/month
$360/year

But this is a suggested amount — not a requirement.

Whether your family contributes $25, $100, $360, or another amount that works for you, your participation helps.

No contribution is too small, and every participating family moves Barnard closer to our goal.

September 25 – October 16, 2026

Giving early helps the PTA understand what resources and programs we can confidently fund during the school year.

Please include your student’s name and classroom/teacher with your contribution.

This is especially important this year because classroom participation will count toward the Golden Bag competition.

Every year, we want BAG to be about participation, not just how much a family gives.

The classroom with the highest overall participation percentage during BAG will win the Golden Bag.

Participation is based on whether a student’s family contributes — not how much they contribute — so every donation counts equally toward your classroom’s participation percentage.

Inside the Golden Bag is a special mystery prize for the winning classroom which will be revealed at the Storybook Parade at the end of October.

So remember:

You don’t have to make the biggest donation to help your classroom win. You just have to participate.

Konstella is an online website and mobile app used by the Barnard PTA to communicate to parents. On it you’ll find information about school events, activities calendar, chat with other parents, and register to volunteer for various committees.
